Edublog Awards Best Individual BlogSeomra Ranga has again this year been selected as a finalist in the international Edublog Awards in three different categories: Best Individual Blog, Best Teacher Blog and Best Ed Tech/Resource Sharing Blog. The Edublog Awards were set up to promote and celebrate the value of blogs and social media in education. Seomra Ranga previously won the overall Best Individual Blog at the Edublog Awards 2012.

This resource is the presentation I delivered on apps suitable for working with SEN pupils. The focus was on iPad apps as it is iPads that we have in our ASD unit. Don't Mention It! 01This is an oral language activity in a Powerpoint Presentation that can be done with pupils probably in the middle/senior classes. A pupil stands with their back to the IWB screen while another pupil faces the screen and describes to the first pupil what the object on the screen is. However, they must not mention any of the three words on the right hand side of the slide.

Debates 01Getting pupils debating, even at primary school age, has great benefits and advantages. Debating enhances cognitive and language abilities and encourages pupils to be more confident in expressing their viewpoint.

It requires skills in research, formulating an argument, listening and responding to opposing arguments and even arguing in favour of a motion with which you personally disagree.
