Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. “A Rosette For Maeve?” was written by Anna McQuinn and illustrated by Paul Young. The setting was at a beef farm and at a village show. The storyline was there was a village show on and a girl called Lisa was training a calf to enter a best looking calf competition. Colm’s Lambs – Book Review
Colm’s Lambs, by Anna McQuinn and illustrated by Paul Young, tells the story of a newborn lamb that might not survive. I enjoyed reading this book because it’s funny, but at same time sad. I really liked the main character Colm; he is kind and good at farming and looking after lambs. The dad has a good sense of humour, and he is also kind like Colm. read more…
Just Teach It Website
Just Teach It is another website with downloadable resources for primary schools which I only recently came across. Based on the UK curriculum, the website says that it has over 1,000 resources which are arranged on the site according to theme, Early Years, KS1 and KS2. It says that, “Our engaging resources are geared towards providing an inviting and stimulating learning environment” and from the resources that I’ve seen, they certainly will do that. read more…

Handwriting Without Tears App
Many teachers will be familiar with the Handwriting Without Tears (HWT) handwriting programme. This app is meant to compliment the teaching of that programme as it replicates the slate chalkboard of the programme. Following the “Wipe – Dry – Try” method, it teaches pupils the formation of upper case letters, lower case letters and numbers. read more…

The Ampville website has been created by the ESB and the Curriculum Development Unit of Mary Immaculate College to teach pupils about Electricity and how to stay safe around electricity.
