MATHletes Challenge 2014

MATHletesMATHletes Challenge 2014 is an online and in-person maths competition which uses the Khan Academy website to give thousands of students across Ireland the chance to compete with each other, and improve their maths abilities. It includes a Student Challenge and a Schools Challenge, and is open to pupils in 5th and 6th class, and Junior Cycle secondary school students. Over €20,000 in prizes will be awarded. read more…

Oscar WildeWhen Damien asked me to review “Oscar Wilde Stories for Children” I was thrilled. I’ve always loved Oscar Wilde, his stories are full of beautiful images and morals, something I love in all that I read. This book is especially beautiful as the illustrator’s talent shines through and really brings the stories to life. The book has three well known stories included: “The Happy Prince”, “The Nightingale and the Rose”, and “The Selfish Giant”.
