Welcome to Seomra Ranga, the Hub for Primary School Resources. For the overseas visitors “Seomra Ranga” means “classroom” in the Irish language.

Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Book Review – Standing on One Leg is Hard

I read this story with my Junior Infant class and also my 5 year old son at home. The children were engaged in the story straight away as they liked the pictures. As I began to read, I was surprised to find out that not one of my 29 pupils had ever heard of a heron before. Therefore, we got off to a good start as it was a way to develop their language and knowledge of a new bird from the beginning. read more…

St. Patrick’s Tracing Booklet

In a digital era, we sometimes wonder if handwriting is still an important skill for pupils to learn. However, there are many benefits, both physical and educational, in getting pupils to practise handwriting and pencil control. This seasonal resource consists of a 30 page Tracing Booklet with a range of pattern for pupils to practice.

Siúlóid Lá Fhéile Pádraig

The aim of this resource is to create an active Gaeilge lesson where pupils get out of their desks to complete the task. Suitable for middle/senior classes, pupils have to find the 27 cards on the trail, identify the name of the item as Gaeilge on each card and fill it in on their answer sheet. This would be a great activity for Seachtain na Gaeilge.
