This is a nice art/SPHE lesson to do with pupils at the beginning of the school year. They have to design their own personal Coat of Arms by following the instructions to complete the six sections of the blank template which is included in the download. Pupils have the choice of drawing pictures or writing a little piece into each section.

Pupils should then write their name decoratively onto the ribbon. The coat of arms should then be cut out and stuck just above the name ribbon.

I think I may have got this idea from an old Walk Tall lesson from years ago. Although I have designed the coat of arms, I hope that I have not infringed on anyone’s copyright.
