Section 30, Teaching Council Act to Commence in November
The Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn T.D., took the opportunity during his speech at the INTO Annual Congress in Cork this morning to announce that Section 30 of the Teaching Council Act 2001 will be fully implemented from November 1st 2013. Seomra Ranga reported last July that the Education Amendment Act 2012 had been passed which made provision for, inter alia, the commencement of Section 30 of the Teaching Council Act. read more…
NxtApp 4 Kids
NxtApp 4 Kids is what the Washington Post called “the perfect app for mental math”. This app focuses on number sequences where the pupil has to complete the sequence. There are four numbers in each sequence and the missing number is usually either in the middle or at the end. read more…
World Autism Awareness Day
Today is World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD), an annual event to raise awareness among the public of Autism and to promote early detection and early intervention of the condition. On December 18, 2007, the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 62/139, tabled by the State of Qatar, which declared April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) in perpetuity.
