ICT Resources

Seomra Ranga has commenced a new page on the site with signs and posters on an ICT-related theme. The first of these resources has now been posted onto the page. They are flashcards with vocabulary relating to ICT and the Internet, both in English and as Gaeilge. If any obvious vocabulary has been ommitted from these resources, let me know and it can be added quite easily. As always, the resources are free to download from the Seomra Ranga site, but I do ask that the copyright of the site be respected and that these resources are not posted onto any other website or any other resource-sharing forum. All of these resources are available to download now HERE >>>>>
W. B. Yeats Powerpoint
A new resource on W. B. Yeats has been added to the Seomra Ranga website. Yeats is, arguably, Ireland’s greatest ever poet, although he was also a dramatist and author. His life story is fascinating, coupled as it is with a changing period in Irish history. This resource, in Powerpoint format, is suitable for senior classes in primary schools, perhaps even classes in post-primary schools. It could be used in conjunction with English poetry as well as Irish history. I hope that teachers may find this resource of benefit to them and their pupils in the classroom.
Off We Go Books
“Going to the Supermarket” is one of a series of books written by Avril Webster. The books were originally written with her own son, Stephen who has special needs, in mind. They are aimed at special needs children, especially those on the autistic spectrum, as well as young children. The intention of the books is to introduce special needs children to everyday social situations, thereby enabling them to cope with a new situation and change in their routine.
“Going to the Supermarket” is a 12 page illustrated book which shows a young girl and her mother on a trip to the supermarket. Each page in the book has a large, clear, colourful illustration with text underneath. It clearly outlines to the reader what will happen on a trip to the supermarket, as well as introducing pertinent language eg. trolley, checkout, shopping list etc. read more…
