Trócaire Lenten Resources 2014
Next Wednesday, March 5th marks the beginning of Lent 2014 and, as usual, the Trócaire charity has produced some great classroom resources to coincide with the season of Lent. “Make Every Drop Count” is the theme of the resources this year and there are separate resources for Primary pupils, Post-Primary pupils and resources as Gaeilge for Gaelscoileanna. read more…
Signs of Spring 2014 Twitter Project
It’s almost time again for our Signs of Spring Twitter project. This is our 3rd year of this event and it gives teachers and pupils a chance to look about and observe the signs of Spring in their environment. We already did a Signs of Autumn (#anfomhar) Twitter project earlier this year and classes seemed to really enjoy this. Smarty Cat Games Competition
Smarty Cat Games is a Gaeilge resource which consists of ten games covering each of the ten themes of Curaclam na Gaeilge. Recently I delivered a course to a group of both Primary and Secondary School Teachers on Using Tablets for Numeracy. I am working as a Numeracy Tutor with the PDST and a large part of my post is delivering courses to teachers on all aspects of Numeracy from Mental Maths to Problem Solving. The course seemed like the perfect opportunity to familiarise myself with the myriad of apps, online tools and teaching approaches schools are using when teaching with an iPad. read more…
