It consists of a table of nine boxes, each of which contains an item of fruit or vegetables. Twelve question cards based on the table are also included. The cards contain positional language like under, above, below, to the right of, to the left of.

Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up pages 2-4 into twelve separate cards. For each question on the left of the cards,

make_5_01This resource is suitable for infant classes or for SEN pupils at the beginning of work on number. It is based on addition sentences to Make 5. It consists of numeral and maths sign cards to enable pupils to construct maths sentences to make 5. eg. 0+5=5; 3+2=5 etc. It has all the numbers and signs to make six addition sentences.

Signs of Autumn 2015 Twitter Project Review

autumn_2015The Signs of Autumn 2015 Twitter Project took place last week and many schools across the country took part. There were also contributions from some schools and teachers in the US, especially in Virginia, thanks to John Heffernan. This was great because it was interesting to compare the seasons in different parts of the world.

peg_halloween_charactersThis seasonal resource, based on Hallowe’en characters,  is aimed at pupils in junior/middle classes or SEN pupils. Pupils should try to identify the Hallowe’en character in the image on the left of the card and, if they are able to read, to match it to the word on the right of the card by attaching a clothes peg to the correct word.

peg_data_01This peg maths resource is aimed at pupils in middle classes or SEN pupils. It is based on the pupil’s ability to read a block graph. It consists of a block graph of “Favourite Pets In Our Class”, followed by sixteen question cards based on the graph. The pupil reads the question on the left of each card (or a teacher/SNA may read it to them) followed by the three possible answers on the right of the card. They then place a clothes peg on the answer that they think is correct.

Signs of Autumn 2014After what has been an exceptionally mild September, the days are gradually closing in, October has arrived and the autumn weather is making its presence felt. That can only mean that it’s time for the “Signs of Autumn 2015 Twitter Project”. This will be the fourth autumn Twitter project and it has been a great success. clocks_06This resource is aimed at junior/middle pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on analogue/digital time. It is based on reinforcing the concept of “o’clock” in digital 24-hour time, from 1pm to midnight. Laminate all of the pages in the resource. Cut up the clocks into 12 separate cards. Cut up the times on pages 3-5. Adhere Velcro to the spaces under the clocks and to the rear of the times. Pupils then have to match the correct times to each clock. In this resource, pupils/teacher have the choice of matching the time on the clocks in three different ways.

Peg Comprehension: Flat Stanley 02

flat_stanley_02This resource is aimed at junior/middle pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of literacy work on comprehension. It is based on chapters 3-4 of the novel “Flat Stanley” by Jeff Brown. Either the pupil reads the story themselves, or the teacher/SNA reads the story to the pupil.

Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up into ten separate cards. Either the pupil or teacher/SNA should read the question at the top of each card
