EdchatIE Poster

Edchatie Poster

I’ve written a previous post about EdchatIE, a Monday night debate/discussion about educational issues which takes place through the medium of Twitter. It involves teachers of all levels and there is a great sharing of ideas. Even if you can’t make it from 8.30pm to 9.30pm on Monday nights, the whole conversation is saved as a summary and can be viewed each week on the EdchatIE Wiki.

This is a poster to download and put in your staffroom or share it with other teachers on your staff to make them aware that this takes place weekly. It will also tell them how to set it up and become involved.

As a result, the technology functions by enhancing one’s current perception of reality”. Augmented Reality was a term I had heard bandied about but had never really understood. To be honest, I’m not sure whether I still really understand what it means. read more…

To celebrate the United Nations designation of 2011 as ‘The International Year of Forests’, the theme for this year’s Tree Day is “Ár gcara an crann á cheiliúradh” or “Celebrating our friend the tree“. With this theme, pupils are being encouraged to recognise the importance of trees and forests and the wide usage of forest products in our everyday lives. read more…
