Welcome to Seomra Ranga, the Hub for Primary School Resources. For the overseas visitors “Seomra Ranga” means “classroom” in the Irish language.
Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Review of 2011

Now into its fifth year, it’s been another busy year on Seomra Ranga. The number of visitors to the site has been steadily increasing, with literally hundreds of thousands visiting the site during 2011. In fact, the level of traffic onto the site increased so dramatically at the end of August, co-inciding with the start of the new school year, that the hosting company almost believed that there was a co-ordinated attack on the site and shut it down! We subsequently experienced some technical difficulties resulting in the site being down for a number of days. However, thanks to a lot of work by James in Logis Media over a weekend in early September, the site theme was changed slightly resulting in the site being a lot more stable and being able to handle the level of traffic to the site. read more…

Jimmy and the Banshee

This resource provides a chapter by chapter list of questions for the Dan Kissane novel “Jimmy and the Banshee”. These could be done orally, they could be used as comprehension questions or they could be used as a quiz at the end of reading the novel. A wordsearch based on the novel is also included. The novel is probably suitable for middle classes.

Christmas Tests

Christmas Tests – a necessary evil or the spoilsport of the classroom Christmas Spirit?
