Welcome to Seomra Ranga, the Hub for Primary School Resources. For the overseas visitors “Seomra Ranga” means “classroom” in the Irish language.
Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

ICT in the Classroom eBulletin – Issue 01

I came across these newsletters through the
Hokusai App
I’m not aware of any apps in the iTunes App Store that will record audio and allow it to be saved as an .mp3 file, which is probably the most widely accessible audio file format. However, I heard about the Hokusai app from Joe Dale on Twitter earlier this year. Joe works in Modern Foreign Languages and writes on his own Blog. The Hokusai app, available for iPhone and iPad in the iTunes Store, is a neat little app. It is very easy to record audio using this app. It saves it as a .wav file (uncompressed) or a MPEG-4 file (compressed) but not .mp3. However there is a way around this. read more…
Know Your Ireland App

Many teachers will be familiar with the great “Know Your Ireland” geography software for schools from the Irish software company Edware. This company also produces other similar geography titles: “Know Your Europe”, “Know Your USA”, “Know Your World”. Edware has now released a “Know Your Ireland” iPad app available in the iTunes App Store. We all know that it can be really difficult to find apps that are specific to the Irish curriculum and to Irish classrooms, so I was delighted to read about this new release. read more…

Rannta agus Amhráin as Gaeilge

Táim ag iarraidh rannta, dánta agus amhráin as Gaeilge a chur le chéile le “Crowdsourcing”, chun tacaíocht a thabhairt do na téamaí éagsúla i gCuraclam na Gaeilge. Má tá dánta/amhráin/rannta agat a bhain tú úsáid astu agus a bhí úsáideach don téama, déan cliceáil ar an nasc thíos, agus fág an dán mar nóta ag bun an bhlagphost. Tá súil agam go n-éirí leis an “Crowdsourcing” seo mar tá a fhios agam go bhfuil neart dánta/rannta agus amhráin bailithe cheana féin ag bunmhúinteoirí na tíre.

Seo dán chun cabhair a thabhairt don mhúinteoir foclóir na hiománaíochta a mhúineadh, go háirithe roimh an cluiche an deireadh seachtaine seo chugainn idir Cill Chainnigh agus Gaillimh. Tá cúpla ceist ag dul leis an dán freisin.
