Welcome to Seomra Ranga, the Hub for Primary School Resources. For the overseas visitors “Seomra Ranga” means “classroom” in the Irish language.
Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….
The Months
This is a Powerpoint presentation of the Sara Coleridge poem, “The Months”. It is very suitable for this time of year and it’s also good for teaching about the months and seasonal changes to junior and middle classes.

The Book Shed Book Competition
The Book Shed have given us five great books as prizes for the first competition on the site for the new year. The Book Shed specialises in Usborne books which are of a high quality. The Book Shed also organise school book fairs and sponsored reads to help schools get free books for their libraries. Luci from The Book Shed tells me that many schools like to hold these in March to tie in with World Book Day and that pupils can use their WBD voucher to get €1.50 off any Usborne book. Teaching Council Registration Fees Reduced
For those teachers whose renewal of registration with the Teaching Council is due in January 2013, the good news is that the registration fee has been reduced from €90 to €65, a reduction of €25 or 28%. This fee reduction only applies to those registrations which fall due after January 1st 2013. read more…

Free Pupil Access To Encyclopaedia Britannica
The Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn T.D., has today announced free home access to the online edition of Encyclopaedia Britannica for all school-going children. For the past three years, primary and post-primary schools have had access to the resource, and today’s roll-out is an expansion of this service.
