The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Hopscotch App Review
I was asked to do a review/comparison for an app called ‘Hopscotch‘. The aim of this review was to see if this was a worthy successor of the computer programme called ‘Scratch‘. Unfortunately, this is not the case, but there are a few things that caught my attention. But first though, I did a comparison between Scratch and Hopscotch: read more…

Bright Sparks Project Work
The rationale behind these Bright Sparks projects is to cater for multiple intelligences and differentiated abilities within the classroom. There is a choice of eight different projects at three different levels, so while the same projects feature on all three levels, there are different expectations depending on the ability of the pupils. The eight projects cover all areas of the curriculum and encourage a variety of oral, visual, aural, creative and problem solving skills. Pupils are usually given one week to complete the project and then they present it to the class. read more…
Life in the Sixties
The 1960s was a time of great change in many countries around the world including Ireland. This change took place in politics, culture and social norms. This is a template for individual pupil project work which will allow them to take time to delve deeper into certain events of this decade. It gives pupils lots of scope for researching an aspect of this period in history which they would enjoy: clothes, pop culture, an historical event and it allows them to present the project in different formats.

Wildflower Girl Table Quiz
Table Quiz based on the book “Wildflower Girl” by Marita Conlon Mc Kenna. It consists of 127 Powerpoint slides with all of the questions based on the book. There are eight rounds with six questions in each round. All of the answers, along with a Tie-Break round are provided. Hopefully, there is a mixture of easy enough questions and some to challenge the memory of the pupils. The aim really is that pupils should be able to get a good few correct with the harder ones there to sort out winners.
