Is It Hot Or Cold? 01
This resource is aimed at pupils in junior classes or pupils with speech and language difficulties. Its aim is to encourage oral language, especially sentence structure. The focus can also be on the pronouns he, she and they. The teacher can start with the question at the top of each card: “Is It Hot Or Cold?” This could be followed up with questions like “How Do You Know?” and “When Would You Eat It?” Questioning will encourage inference and deduction from the context.

My Friend With Autism
This Powerpoint resource is aimed at the general body of pupils in a school where there may be a pupil/s with autism. It aims to inform pupils about autism and to dispel any myths they may have about befriending a pupil with autism. Although every pupil with autism is uniquely different, this presentation contains many generalisations about autism.

Signs of Autumn 2014 Twitter Project
After what has been an exceptionally mild September, the days are gradually closing in and the autumn weather is making its presence felt. That can only mean that it’s time for the “Signs of Autumn 2014 Twitter Project”. This will be the third autumn Twitter project and it has been a great success. Many teachers reported how much their class enjoyed taking part in the project and using a simple technology tool to connect with other classes across the country. read more…
Peg Comprehension: Jemima Puddle Duck
This resource is aimed at junior/middle pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of literacy work on comprehension. It is based on the Ladybird “Read It Yourself (Level 1)” version of the story, but could probably be used with any version. Either the pupil reads the story themselves, or the teacher/SNA reads the story to the pupil.

Number Puzzle 05
This resource is aimed at pupils in middle classes or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on skip counting. It is based on skip counting of numbers 5-50 in a fun way. The resource features images on a school bus theme.
Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut each one up into ten separate strips. Laminate another piece of A4 card.

Topics for Minister For Education on #EdChatIE
As you may know, the new Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O’ Sullivan TD, has agreed to be a special guest in the weekly #EdChatIE Twitter chat on this Monday evening, September 29th. The Twitter chat will take more of a “question and answer” format on the night. Peg Numbers 05
This resource is aimed at infant/middle or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on numeracy. It is based on the association of the numbers 10-20 with their equivalent word name. Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up into eleven separate cards. Pupils should look at the number on the left side of each card and place a peg on the correct word on the right side of the card.
