Is It Hot Or Cold 01This resource is aimed at pupils in junior classes or pupils with speech and language difficulties. Its aim is to encourage oral language, especially sentence structure. The focus can also be on the pronouns he, she and they. The teacher can start with the question at the top of each card: “Is It Hot Or Cold?” This could be followed up with questions like “How Do You Know?” and “When Would You Eat It?” Questioning will encourage inference and deduction from the context.

Peg Jemima Puddle DuckThis resource is aimed at junior/middle pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of literacy work on comprehension. It is based on the Ladybird “Read It Yourself (Level 1)” version of the story, but could probably be used with any version. Either the pupil reads the story themselves, or the teacher/SNA reads the story to the pupil.

Number Puzzle 05This resource is aimed at pupils in middle classes or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on skip counting. It is based on skip counting of numbers 5-50 in a fun way. The resource features images on a school bus theme.

Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut each one up into ten separate strips. Laminate another piece of A4 card.

Peg Numbers 05This resource is aimed at infant/middle or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on numeracy. It is based on the association of the numbers 10-20 with their equivalent word name. Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up into eleven separate cards. Pupils should look at the number on the left side of each card and place a peg on the correct word on the right side of the card.
