Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Signs of Spring 2016
It’s that time of year again for our Signs of Spring Twitter Project 2016. With Easter falling so early this year, it’s better to do this project before, rather than after, Easter. This will be our 5th year of this event and it gives teachers and pupils a chance to look about and observe the signs of Spring in their environment.
We’ve done a Signs of Autumn (#anfomhar) and Signs of Spring (#antearrach) Twitter Projects for the past five years and classes seemed to really enjoy these. Hopefully, we can build on the success of previous projects and get even more schools and classes involved. read more…

Is It Heavy Or Light?
This resource is aimed at pupils in junior classes or pupils with speech and language difficulties. Its aim is to encourage oral language, especially sentence structure. The focus is also on the concept of heavy/light. The teacher can start with the question at the top of each card: “Is It Heavy or Light?” This could be followed up with questions like “How Do You Know?” Questioning will encourage inference and deduction from the context.
