Last night, I presented at the CESI (Computers in Education Society of Ireland) TeachMeet online via Zoom. A TeachMeet is like an informal conference where people give short presentations of between 2-7 minutes. This resource is the presentation I delivered on mobile apps on the theme of “Words”. Mamaigh na hÉireann

This new resource, published to coincide with Science Week 2023, is aimed at making pupils aware of the variety of mammals that can be found in Ireland. The pack consists of 20 different photo posters of Irish mammals as Gaeilge using high quality photos which would make a great display in the classroom or school corridor.

Irish Mammals Trail

The purpose of this resource is to create a fun and active lesson for Science Week, where pupils get out of their desks to complete the task. Suitable for junior/middle classes, the cards on the trail ask the question: “Is this mammal found in the wild in Ireland?” Pupils simply have to answer yes or no to each question. There are 26 picture cards on the trail.

Science Week 2023 Junior Table Quiz

Next week is Science Week 2023 and as usual it is a great time to celebrate the week with a Table Quiz. This resource comprises six rounds of six questions, a Tie-Break round, Science Jokes between rounds and answers to all questions on 136 Powerpoint slides. It is geared towards pupils in the middle part of the school, roughly 1st to 3rd/4th class.
