Numerosity App

Numerosity is a new maths app for iPad just released in the iTunes App Store from the Thoughtbox company. Its purpose is to reinforce learning in the four main mathematical operations operations. I asked one of my pupils to review the app for me and these are his thoughts:
My teacher asked my to do a review on this new maths game he found on the iPad. The app is called Numerosity. Numerosity is a game where this dog called Scruffy has lots of problems with maths so some of his friends started Numerosity to help. read more…

Nollaig Shona’s 1st Birthday
Nollaig Shona, the Christmas resources website from Seomra Ranga, celebrated its first birthday this week. I spent many months during 2011 making preparations to launch the new site. Previously, the Christmas resources had been housed in a sub-domain of Seomra Ranga but the amount of resources was growing and needed their own website. So, after a lot of preparation and planning, Nollaig Shona was launched in October 2011. read more…
Amhrán: Níl Mé Ag Bogadh

Seo na focail agus an fís-scannán don amhrán “Níl Mé ag Bogadh”. Is dócha go bhfuil an fonn ar eolas ag na daltaí sna hardranganna, mar is é “The Man Who Can’t be Moved” an teideal don amhrán i mBéarla ó “The Script”. ICT in the Classroom eBulletin – Issue 6

This is the sixth of David Ganly’s ICT in the Classroom eBulletins. David teaches in Donabate Community College and he says that the eBulletin started off as an idea he had to engage and encourage teachers in his school to use ICT in the classroom. After putting the first edition together he soon realised that it would be more beneficial if he made it open for any teacher to use, so he then decided to circulate it through his email contacts, the CESI list and Edmodo. read more…
Techy Tips for Teachers

I came across this presentation through the Teachers With Apps website in the last few days, which I follow through RSS feed using the Feeddler App on the iPad. It also suggests other technology resources which I hadn’t heard of before read more…

OLLY an Veain Bheag Bhán App

It’s so difficult to find any Gaeilge apps on the market, so to find two new apps released within days of each other is remarkable. TG4 have been busy developing apps for younger children with the release this time last year of the first Cúla Caint app and the release this week of Cúla Caint 2. Now comes the release of another app for younger children called “OLLY an Veain Bheag Bhán”. This app is based on a popular animation series on TG4 for younger children featuring the adventures of a friendly, helpful little van with lots of his friends and his driver Stan. read more…
