A New Method For Music Education
In 2008 I created a new system of music notation as part of a Masters in Music and Media Technology in Trinity College Dublin. My aim was to create a type of musical notation that could be used and understood by everyone, regardless of their previous musical experience. Excited Digital Learning Festival 2016
In 2014 EXCITED held the first Digital Learning Festival in Dublin Castle. Last year it returned with a theme of “Growing the Network”. On Friday 20th and Saturday 21st May it once again visits Dublin Castle with a theme of “Celebrating Success and Sharing Innovation”.

Sentence Strips 12
This resource is aimed at pupils in first to third classes or SEN pupils. Its purpose is to assist with the understanding of both sentence structure and reading for meaning. These sentences are made up of six words.
Laminate all of the pages in the resource. Cut out the five sentence strips and the corresponding words, which are colour co-ordinated to assist with matching. Place velcro in each of the boxes on the sentence strips
Alphabetical Order Ladder 04
This resource is aimed at giving pupils practice of ordering words by alphabetical order. The vocabulary used pertains to various items of clothing. There are five different sets of five words to place in order, based only on the first letter of the word. There is a reference image beside each word.
Laminate all pages in the resource. Leave page 1 intact and cut up the words
Statutory Vetting Has Commenced
The Minister for Justice and Equality, Frances Fitzgerald, has announced that the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012 to 2016 is being commenced from 29 April 2016. The Acts provide a statutory basis for the vetting of persons carrying out relevant work with children or vulnerable persons. The Act also creates offences and penalties for persons who fail to comply with its provisions. read more…
Book Review: Arrivals
“Arrivals” by Brian Gallagher is a book about a girl called Ciara and her granddad who has just died. She goes to visit his home in Ontario, Canada. She is excited because he left her a letter. In the letter she finds a riddle. Together with her Dad, she solves the riddle and it leads them to a box. They find a manuscript in the box, of what really happened long ago, that her granddad swore not to tell about until the day he died. read more…
New Dublinia Interactive Resources Site
Dublinia, in conjunction with Dublin City Council, Scoilnet and Noho have recently launched a new Online Learning platform. Through audio-visual interactives, the platform introduces pupils to the history of Viking and medieval Dublin.
