Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….


Book Review – You Can Do It Rosie

I read this book to two classes of 29 Junior Infants and it was a big hit with both! The book tells the tale of Rosie, an older (or more mature!) dog who sets out on a very special walk. Hallowe’en Counting

This new seasonal resource consists of 5 worksheets for pupils to practise their early number skills using seasonal Hallowe’en images.The pupil has to count the number of each of six different Hallowe’en-themed images in the large box at the top of each worksheet and fill the correct number into the appropriate box at the bottom of the page.

Hallowe’en Symmetry Booklet

This new seasonal resource consists of a 17-page booklet where pupils have to complete a selection of Hallowe’en-themed symmetrical images. The pupil is given half of the image on each page and they have to draw a mirror image on the other half of the page, colouring the image when it is completed.

With the theme of Hallowe’en well under way in many classrooms throughout the country, these two image mats – Hallowe’en Creatures and Hallowe’en Items – might be a welcome addition to talk, discussion and writing on the theme of Hallowe’en, especially in junior classes.

Pumpkin Tracing Booklet

This new seasonal resource consists of a 13-page booklet of tracing activities for pupils in junior classes who are at the pre-writing stage or who need more practice in fine motor skills for writing. The tracing patterns are all in the shape of a Hallowe’en pumpkin.
