Welcome to Seomra Ranga, the Hub for Primary School Resources. For the overseas visitors “Seomra Ranga” means “classroom” in the Irish language.
Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….
Please have a browse through the new site and support our work in developing new resources by becoming a Member. Individual and School Memberships are available.

At the Beach Photo Pack
With the arrival of the sunny days of summer, teachers in junior classes especially will be discussing the theme of Summer with their pupils. This pack of 36 display photo posters is aimed at providing pupils with striking visual images, which are all labelled, which can be used for talk and discussion and written work in the classroom.
Book Review – The Pain in my Chest

The Pain in my Chest by Áine Murray, illustrated by Bronagh Lee. I was immediately drawn to this book by its title and the eye-catching front cover (yes I judged a book by its cover). I read this book initially to myself, my son (12), then to a junior class (infants to second) and finally to a senior class (third to sixth). I teach in a multi-grade setting.
Summer Clothes Image Mat
With the theme of Summer well under way in many classrooms throughout the country, these seasonal image mats might be a welcome addition to talk, discussion and writing on the theme of Summer Clothes, especially in junior classes. This resource also includes “Listen and Colour” and “Listen and Label” activities based on the image mat.

Scríobh an Scéal 01
This resource is aimed at providing pupils in middle/senior classes with picture prompts for practising their narrative writing skills as Gaeilge. Each writing template contains images of a character, a setting and an object. The job of the pupil is to connect these three elements into a piece of narrative writing. The resource contains 20 different story writing templates.
Summer Trace and Colour 02
This resource contains two 16-page seasonal booklets aimed at younger pupils. Pupils have to trace the lines, trace the word and colour the Summer images on each page of the booklet. This gives pupils opportunities to practise fine motor and colouring skills and learn new vocabulary in a fun and engaging way. Both an English and a Gaeilge version are available to download.
Summer Dolch Word Mats
Dolch words are a list of 220 “service words” developed in the 1940s by William Dolch. They consist of a series of eleven sets of twenty words which are considered to be vocabulary which occurs most frequently in children’s reading material. This resource contains each set of words on a single page with a Summer theme.
