Welcome to Seomra Ranga, the Hub for Primary School Resources. For the overseas visitors “Seomra Ranga” means “classroom” in the Irish language.
Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Days of Holy Week
This seasonal resource consists of a set of A4 posters detailing the names of each of the days that occur during the Christian festival of Holy Week. Starting with Palm Sunday and ending with Easter Sunday, each of the days of the week has a particular name which is displayed on a colourful poster.
Mothers’ Day Card
Most pupils like to create and design a card for Mothers’ Day. This is just one suggestion on how to make it a little different. It uses matchsticks to create a flower basket on the cover of the card.
Bláthanna an Earraigh
This resource consists of a set of 13 A4 sized posters as Gaeilge to create a display of flowers associated with the arrival of Spring. Each poster has a colourful border, a clear photograph of the flower and a word label at the bottom of the page.

Spring Flowers Image Mat
With many classes throughout the country, especially younger classes, working on the theme of Spring at this time of the year, this seasonal image mat, which uses actual photographs of the flowers, should be a welcome addition to talk, discussion and writing on the theme of Spring Flowers.
Ireland’s Call
This resource could be used around the time of the Six Nations Rugby Tournament, around the time of the Rugby World Cup or around the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. It consists of display posters giving details around the history of the song, how it came about and how it is used at rugby international games. It also gives the lyrics of the anthem.
Shamrock Characters
This is a fun seasonal visual arts lesson to be completed coming up to the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. It is fairly simple to put it together, with only art paper needed to complete it. The completed shamrock characters look great when displayed together on the classroom wall or on a line across the classroom.
