Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. These sentence builder activities, featuring smiley faces, are suitable for younger pupils and special needs pupils who are starting on the road to reading. It teaches left to right orientation, capital letters and full stops. They are also reinforcing numbers 1-3 and the colours yellow, green and red.
Ministers Launch History Lesson Plans
The Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn T.D., and the Minister for the Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Jimmy Deenihan T.D., today jointly launched new History lesson plans for primary schools. The History lesson plans are based on A History of Ireland in 100 Objects, the collaborative project involving the National Museum of Ireland, The Irish Times and the Royal Irish Academy (RIA).
