edublog_awards_2013It’s that time of year again when the international Edublog Awards nominations are being sought. Having won the prestigious “Best Individual Blog” at the awards last year, it would be great if Seomra Ranga was in the running for that award again this year.

This is the tenth year of the awards whose aim is to “promote and demonstrate the educational values” of learner and teacher blog sites for educational purposes.

Nominations are open until December 1st under 19 different categories, after which time voting will commence. When thinking about nominations, I decided to choose blogs that I already follow. Unfortunately, you can’t nominate yourself so I’m hoping that others may consider Seomra Ranga for a nomination again this year! These are the twelve Seomra Ranga nominations:

Best Individual Blog: Free Technology For Teachers

Best Group Blog: Irish Teacher Blogs

Best Class Blog: St. Peter’s Primary Bray Blog

Best Student Blog: Autistic and Proud

Best Ed Tech / Resource Sharing Blog: Anseo

Best Teacher Blog: Leaving Cert English

Most Influential Blog Post of the Year: An Open Letter To Ruairí Quinn

Best Individual Tweeter: Fred Boss

Best Twitter Hashtag: #EdchatIE

Best Free Web Tool: Kidblog

Best Educational Use of Audio / Video / Visual / Podcast: The Literacy Shed

Best mobile app: A History of Ireland in 100 Objects

Don’t forget to nominate Seomra Ranga in the “Best Individual Blog”, “Best Ed Tech / Resource Sharing Blog” or “Best Individual Tweeter” or any other suitable category. Instructions on how to nominate blogs for the awards are on the Edublog Awards website.
