Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Number Order 01
This resource is geared towards younger pupils and SEN pupils. It is to be used to reinforce number order for numbers 1-5. Page 1 has a complete set of the numbers 1-5. The following five pages have a number grid with some of the numbers missing. The last page has a blank grid where all of the numbers 1-5 are missing. Pages with missing numbers have a smaller number grid to help identify the missing numbers.
Alphabetical Order

Aimsir App
It’s rare to report on the release of a new Gaeilge mobile app because they are few and far between. However, Athlone-based developer Moonswing has just released Aimsir, an Irish language weather forecast app. Aimsir uses data from OpenWeatherMap to give accurate and detailed current and seven day forecasts. Aimsir’s forecasts also provide information on wind strength and direction, atmospheric pressure and humidity. read more…

Seomra Ranga Nominated for 3 Edublog Awards
Seomra Ranga has been selected as a finalist in the international Edublog Awards in three different categories: Best Individual Blog, Best Teacher Blog and Best Ed Tech/Resource Sharing Blog. The Edublog Awards were set up to promote and celebrate the value of blogs and social media in education. Minister Launches Digital Strategy For Schools
The Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn T.D., this week launched the public consultation phase of the development of a new Digital Strategy for Schools. As part of the consultation phase of the development of the new Digital Strategy, parents, teachers, students, industry and academics are being asked for their views on how best to make use of computers and technology in the classroom. read more…
Nano WOW – An Introduction to Nanoscience
Nanoscience is the simply the science of the VERY small. Nanoscience is an exciting new field within materials science and is explored throughout the NanoWOW pack. Designed for 5th and 6th class pupils the pack will introduce Irish Primary students to the world of nano and materials science. Sentence Builder 06
These sentence builder activities are great for infant pupils as well as pupils with learning difficulties or special educational needs. They help to develop vocabulary, sentence structure and left to right orientation. They feature “The baby needs a ____” sentences. All pages should be laminated; the words on pages 7-9 should then be cut out. Velcro should be attached to the spaces on pages 1-6
