Teachers Must Be Registered With Teaching Council By End Of January

Teaching CouncilSection 30 of the Teaching Council Act 2011 will finally come into effect on January 28th this year. After many delays, Minister Ruairí Quinn finally signed the commencement order for this part of the Act on November 1st 2013, meaning that Section 30 is legally operative from this date. Sentence Builder 07These sentence builder activities are great for infant pupils as well as pupils with learning difficulties or special educational needs. They help to develop vocabulary, sentence structure and left to right orientation. They feature “Where is the ____” questions to get pupils focused on the “where” question as well as the question mark at the end rather than a full stop.

Number Order 02This resource is geared towards younger pupils and SEN pupils. It is to be used to reinforce number order for numbers 1-10. Page 1 has a complete set of the numbers 1-10. The following six pages have a number grid with some of the numbers missing. The last page has a blank grid where all of the numbers 1-10 are missing. Pages with missing numbers have a smaller number grid to help pupils identify the missing numbers.

The Life and Times of Nelson Mandela

With the funeral of the world-famous Nelson Mandela taking place this weekend, I’ve just come across this four part animated video on the Life and Times of Nelson Mandela, created by the Nelson Mandela Foundation.  It is suitable for senior classes and it deals with his life from his early childhood up to the holding of democratic elections in 1994 and the abolition of apartheid.
