Peg Comprehension: The Enormous Turnip
This resource is aimed at junior pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of literacy work on comprehension. It is based on the Ladybird “Read It Yourself” version of the story, but could probably be used with any version. Either the pupil reads the story themselves, or the teacher/SNA reads the story to the pupil.

As I have a child with Down Syndrome, I’m always looking for educational materials for him. I came across an App called Actions in Video, which was launched in Cork on April 5th. Geraldine Moran, who developed the App, is a Speech and Language therapist. She knows that children with Down Syndrome are visual learners, but sometimes it can be difficult to teach concepts from still images. read more…

Peg Digital Time: Half Past
This resource is aimed at junior/middle pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on digital time. It is based on reinforcing the concept of “half past”. Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up into 24 separate cards. Pupils should read the time on the watch on the left side of each card and place a peg on the correct answer on the right side of the card.
Peg Analogue Time: Quarter To
This resource is aimed at junior pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on analogue time. It is based on reinforcing the concept of “a quarter to”. Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up into 24 separate cards. Pupils should read the clock on the left side of each card and place a peg on the correct answer on the right side of the card.
