Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….


Peg Comprehension: Tadpoles and Frogs

Peg Tadpoles and FrogsThis resource is aimed at junior pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of literacy work on comprehension. It is based on the Ladybird “Read It Yourself” fact book. Either the pupil reads the book themselves, or the teacher/SNA reads the book to the pupil.

Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up into six separate cards. Either the pupil or teacher/SNA should read the question at the top of each card

Peg 2D Shapes 02This resource is aimed at middle/senior pupils or SEN pupils who are learning 2D Shapes.The resource contains four basic shapes as well as a selection of other 2D shapes pupils may come across. Laminate the resource and cut up into 18 separate cards. Pupils should look at the shape on the left side of each card and place a peg on the correct answer on the right side of the card.

Election Resources

ElectionsElection day is fast approaching (May 23rd) with the impending Local Elections, European Parliament Elections and the two By-Elections. This provides the teacher with a great opportunity to use the election atmosphere around us to teach about Ireland’s democracy and the electoral process. Camping Bingo

Camping BingoEducational bingo games are a great way for pupils to learn so many different skills. They help with listening skills, visual discrimination, group work, turn taking and the reinforcement of the learning content of that particular bingo game.

This bingo game focuses on the theme of “Camping”. It is aimed at a group of six pupils, so it would be useful for Station Teaching or for Aistear work on the theme of Camping.
