GAA Launch New Teacher Resources

Céim ar AghaidhThe GAA has launched a number of resources for Primary School Teachers and Coaches. PE Céim ar Aghaidh is a Teaching Resource book designed to assist Primary School Teachers to deliver the Physical Educational curriculum through Gaelic games activities. The Magic Porridge PotThis resource is aimed at junior pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of literacy work on comprehension. It is based on the Ladybird “Read It Yourself (Level 1)” version of the story, but could probably be used with any version. Either the pupil reads the story themselves, or the teacher/SNA reads the story to the pupil.

Peg Fractions 02This resource is aimed at pupils in middle classes or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on fractions. It is based on working out a half of a number up to twenty. Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up into ten separate cards. Pupils should work out the fraction on the left side of each card and place a clothes peg on the correct answer on the right of the card.

Dathanna – Cártaí Meaitseála

Dathanna - Cártaí MeaitseálaThis resource is aimed at junior/middle class pupils pupils. It is based on matching colours their word name as Gaeilge, with a “cloud” theme. Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up into twelve separate cards. Pupils should look at the star on the left of each card. The pupil should then attach a peg  or place a counter/cube on the matching colour word on the right side of each card.

Silly Sentences 03

Silly Sentences 03This resource is aimed at junior/middle pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on literacy. It focuses on sentence construction in a fun way. There are eight pages in the resource which should be laminated and cut up into 31 separate cards. Pupils choose four cards and put them together in the correct order to make the silly sentence. The colour-coded strips on the last page of the resource are to show pupils the order in which to place the cards in order to make the sentence.
