Peg Fractions 03
This resource is aimed at pupils in middle classes or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on fractions. It is based on halves and quarters of shapes. Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up into sixteen separate cards. Pupils should work out the fraction on the left side of each card and place a clothes peg on the correct answer on the right of the card.

Book Review: Black Wreath
The book is about a fair haired boy that lived in the 1700’s called James Lovett. He was the son of Lord Dunmain and the heir to the Lord Dunmain title. His father was a horrible man and for money he left his only son to live on the dangerous streets of Dublin. James had to somehow try to stay alive.
One day as James tried to earn some coins at his friend’s Harry’s stall and was polishing people’s shoes, a cruel man came over and shouted at James that he didn’t polish his shoes properly and threw the coin into a puddle. read more…

RDS Primary Science Fair 2015
Can we drop an egg from a height and not let it break? This was just one of the questions investigated by primary school pupils at the RDS Primary Science Fair last year. This year’s event takes place in January alongside the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition. The image to the left shows pupils from Timolin NS, Co. Book Review: Brian and the Vikings
I thought this was a very good book with excellent drawings. It was very exciting and I liked Brian because he was clever and saved the day. I liked when Brian and his brothers tricked the Vikings. I would recommend this book for kids between 5 and 7 and I’d give it an 8/10. I think the drawings made it very exciting and the illustrator was very creative. read more…
Irish Grammar App
Irish Grammar (Gramadach na Gaeilge) is a relatively new app that is available for both Apple and Android devices. It presents grammar rules section by section, explaining the rules in simple English, followed by practice quizzes at the end of each section. There are more than 1,000 grammar exercises contained in these quizzes. At the end of each quiz, a summary and explanation of answers is given. read more…
What Teachers Should Know About Aspergers
Teachers sometimes do not understand aspergers. Over the years i have had some brilliant teachers and some who don’t teach in a way aspies can benefit. They don’t do it deliberately but if they understood it would be a lot more easy to teach us. And there are some things that teachers could do to make it more easy for us to learn.

GAA Launch New Teacher Resources
The GAA has launched a number of resources for Primary School Teachers and Coaches. PE Céim ar Aghaidh is a Teaching Resource book designed to assist Primary School Teachers to deliver the Physical Educational curriculum through Gaelic games activities. It is the most recent addition to the GAA Céim ar Aghaidh/Step Ahead Resource Pack, which is a cross-curricular education resource, supporting delivery of the wider Curriculum based on the theme of the GAA. read more…
