Peg the Largest Number 01
This resource is aimed at junior pupils or SEN pupils. It is based on reinforcing the concept of number up to 20. The pack contains 24 cards – on the right hand side of each card are four numbers less than 20. The pupil has to use a clothes peg to identify the largest of these four numbers.
Irish Symposium on Game Based Learning
This year, iGBL will be hosted by Institute of Art, Design & Technology (IADT) in Dun Laoghaire on Thursday 4th June & Friday 5th June 2015. Book Review: Behind the Walls
“Behind The Walls” by Nicola Pierce was set in Derry 1689, Northern Ireland, which even though this book is fiction, the setting was very realistic,especially for the situation that was set. It was very interesting, It made me sit down and think a lot more than I would have with a regular book. It made me consider my religion as I am a Catholic. Same & Different Sorting 01
This resource is aimed at pupils in junior classes or pupils with speech and language difficulties. Categorisation/sorting is an important skill for younger/SEN pupils to develop. This resource aims to develop categorisation skills as well as to encourage oral language. This sorting activity focuses on the concept of same/different. There are two images on each sorting card – some images are the same, some are different.
Contractions Word Mat
If pupils are confused about the meanings of common contractions, this resource may be of help to them. It contains forty of the most common contractions and their meanings on one word mat, for easy reference.

This Powerpoint resource is a quiz on environmental sustainability which is suitable for 4th-6th classes. It was compiled by pupils of Glencullen NS as part of their Irish Aid Awards Project.
Book Review: A Cage of Roots
“A Cage of Roots” by Matt Griffin is a story of friendship, courage and adventure. The main character is a teenage girl called Ayla who has many adventures to face and many terrors to suffer. Ayla has been abducted by evil and she is buried in the bowels of the earth. Her stuffy cell made of mud and rock is too hard to dig through. Soon she is brought to the terrifying goblin king made of roots where she struggles very much to live. read more…
Peg Match the Letters 04
This resource is aimed at pupils in junior classes or SEN pupils at the beginning of literacy work on letter recognition. Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up into twenty-six separate cards. Pupils should firstly look at the lower case letter at the top of the card. They should then try to identify its match at the bottom of the card from the four options. They should then place a clothes peg on the correct answer.
