Counting Task 01
This resource is aimed at pupils in junior classes or SEN pupils, at the beginning of work on conservation of number. It is a form of assessment to see whether a pupil has mastered the concept of the numbers 1-12. Pupils have to count the smiley faces on each card and match the answers with the appropriate images.
Arts in Education Portal Launched
The Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O’Sullivan TD, and the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys TD, today launched the Arts in Education Portal in Dublin Castle. Developed by both Departments, the Arts in Education Charter was launched in 2012. The Green World Colouring App is a great child-friendly app that adults can use too. Every page for colouring includes details about the animals or environmental issues shown in the picture, so it teaches children about the environment while they’re colouring.

This resource is aimed at junior pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on analogue/digital time. It is based on reinforcing the concept of “half past”. Laminate all of the pages in the resource. Cut up the clocks into 12 separate cards. Cut up the times on pages 3-4. Adhere Velcro to the spaces under the clocks and to the rear of the times. Pupils then have to match the correct times to each clock. In this resource, pupils have the choice of matching the time on the clocks in two different ways.
