Getting younger pupils used to handling a scissors and cutting lines or patterns is a useful activity for fine motor skills. Pupils with special educational needs may also need some extra practice with this activity. This seasonal resource requires pupils to cut out the autumn-themed images and stick them into a copy or on a sheet. There are five shapes to be cut out.

Mouth Exercises
This resource consists of a schedule for doing mouth exercises with a class or a group of children. Just like we exercise the body, it is also important to exercise the mouth and mouth muscles in order to help our speech and sounds.

Book Review: The Moon Spun Round
“The Moon Spun Round – W. B. Yeats For Children” is a new illustrated book from the O’Brien Press. It features poems, folk tales, childhood writing and some information on W. B. Yeats and his family.
Having been born and raised in the “Yeats County” of Sligo and having grown up learning and performing the poems and plays of W.B. Yeats, I looked forward to reading and reviewing this book.
