Peg The Missing Number 02

peg_missing_number_02This resource is aimed at pupils in middle classes or SEN pupils. It is based on number sequences. The pack contains 20 cards – at the top of each card is a sequence of numbers with one number missing. The pupil has to use a clothes peg to identify which of the four numbers at the bottom of the card  is the missing number from the sequence. All of the sequences involve numbers up to 100.

Book Review: Kings of the Boyne

kings_of_the_boyneI have recently finished the historical novel, Kings of the Boyne, by Nicola Pierce. The book was mainly about the famous battle, Battle of the Boyne. Hallowe’en Matching 01

halloween_matching_01aThis seasonal activity features twelve different Hallowe’en-themed images, four per A4 page. It is aimed at the development of visual perception. Pupils have to match the silhouette to the Hallowe’en-themed image.

Laminate all pages in the resource. Place velcro in all of the empty boxes on pages 1-3. Cut out the small images on page 4 and place velcro on the rear of these images.

Hallowe’en Twitter Project

samhain_ar_scoilI’ve been so preoccupied with my own work at school, that I’d quite forgotten about organising the fifth Signs of Autumn Twitter Project this term. Given that Autumn is already well on the road and winter is gradually approaching, I thought that we might try something a little different for the final week before the mid-term break.

Cloze Sentences 02

cloze_sentences_02This literacy resource is aimed at pupils in middle classes or SEN pupils. It is made up of cloze sentences with one word missing in the middle. The missing words are all verbs. The pack contains a base board, the missing words and twelve sentence strips. The pupil has to decide which of the twelve words best completes the sentence.

cloze_sentences_01bLaminate all of the pages in the resource. Cut out the words on page two and adhere them to the spaces on the base board on page one using Velcro.

Pupils with special educational needs may also need some extra practice with this activity. This seasonal resource requires pupils to cut out the Hallowe’en-themed images and stick them into a copy or on a sheet. There are five shapes to be cut out.

Maths Mat 02

maths_mat_02This new maths resource is released to coincide with Maths Week. It consists of five maths mats, each containing eight numbers from 0-20. The purpose of the mats is to focus on the development of mental maths and the consolidation of maths facts.

Supply all of the pupils in the group/class with the same maths mat
