Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Live Streaming on Twitter

live_stream_03Twitter purchased the live video streaming app Periscope for a sizeable sum in early 2015, before it had even been officially launched. Periscope, another social media application, allows users to tell their news via live streaming of video.

In the past week, Twitter has integrated Periscope into its native app to allow its users to broadcast live video through the app, in an attempt to compete with Facebook Live launched earlier this year. read more…

Christmas Twitter Project

nollaig_ar_scoilAfter the unexpected success of the Hallowe’en Twitter Project, where so many schools Tweeted about what they were doing in their classrooms on the theme of Hallowe’en, I immediately thought that such a Twitter project would be great to do at Christmas.

Seesaw App

seesaw_appSeesaw is an app for the development of student digital portfolios. It allows the teacher to set up “journals” for each of the pupils in the class. The pupil can then upload their work to their journal in the form of photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs and links. In the case of photos, for example, a student could upload a photo of work they have completed and annotate the photo with text, drawing or audio to explain what the work was about. read more…

make_12_cardsThis resource is aimed at pupils in junior/middle classes or SEN pupils. Its aim is to help pupils who are beginning to learn addition tables. It could also be used as an assessment tool for addition tables. There are thirteen cards for pupils to Make 12.

Laminate all of the pages in the resource. Cut up the number sentence cards, the answers base board and the small answer numbers. Adhere Velcro to the blank boxes
