In this book, 10 year olds Grace Ryan and Aaron Collins, who go to ride horses at Rowan Tree Stables, figure out a nature mystery. Grace’s Grandad, Denis, is the owner of Rowan Tree Stables. Grace and Aaron’s favourite ponies are called Nipper and Daisy. Daisy is Grace’s pony. She is a grey Connemara. Nipper is the owned by the stables but Aaron rides him all the time. They are in a triathlon club.

When they find something suspicious about the local river, they work together with their ponies to solve the mystery. However, they meet some little hiccups along the way! The story is a tale of friendship as well as adventure.

I found this book very good. My favourite parts were when Rocky, Grace’s Grandad’s dog, gets up to mischief. The descriptions throughout the book were really good, especially when something exciting happened. The illustrations made me get what was going on even better! I’d recommend this book for 9-12 year olds. It’s even better if you do horse riding or know a lot about it. I would give this book a 9 /10.
