Seomra Ranga has again teamed up with UNANIMA International, an NGO based in the UN in New York, to develop this free resource for World Homeless Day on October 10th. This Photo Pack aims to stimulate talk and discussion on the topic of homelessness in the classroom.

Teachers know that a strong image can provoke much discussion and debate and this Photo Pack contains lots of strong images to act as a stimulus.

The pack also contains various Prompt Questions to lead the discussion. I’d suggest dividing pupils into small groups of 3/4, giving them one of the printed images and 2/3 prompt questions for them to discuss. In a Plenary session, with the images on the board, each group could give feedback.

Homelessness is such a current issue both in our own country and in many countries throughout the world. This resource would be the perfect way to discuss the issue on World Homeless Day on Thursday October 10th.

UNANIMA International is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) advocating on behalf of women and children (particularly those living in poverty), immigrants homeless, refugees, and the environment. Their work takes place primarily at the United Nations headquarters in New York, where they and other members of civil society aim to educate and influence policymakers at the global level.
