This resource is aimed at junior/middle pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on literacy. It focuses on sentence construction in a fun way, getting pupils to construct a sentence that may make no sense at all!
There are eight pages in the resource which should be laminated and cut up into 32 separate cards. Pupils choose four cards and put them together in the correct order to make the silly sentence. The colour-coded strips on the last page of the resource are to show pupils the order in which to place the cards in order to make the sentence: yellow first, then green, then orange and lastly blue.
When the pupil has constructed the sentence, they could be asked to read it and to write it in their copy. There are numerous combinations of sentences that can be constructed using these cards.
