Logainm Primary Resource

I’ve previously written a blog post about the Logainm Website, which is the national database for the placenames of Ireland. It’s an invaluable resource for research on the placenames of your locality or the locality of your school. The team at Logainm have now developed a free resource specifically aimed at the senior end of primary schools. The resource is a 44-page manual for teachers, written completely “as Gaeilge”, the aim of which is to instil in pupils an interest in the placenames of Ireland through research and activities. While the work that pupils would complete would be part of the Gaeilge curriculum, it also has obvious integration with other areas of the curriculum, especially SESE Geography and History.
