With the theme of Summer well under way in many classrooms throughout the country, these seasonal image mats might be a welcome addition to talk, discussion and writing on the theme of Summer Clothes, especially in junior classes. This resource is aimed at providing pupils in middle/senior classes with picture prompts for practising their narrative writing skills as Gaeilge. Each writing template contains images of a character, a setting and an object. The job of the pupil is to connect these three elements into a piece of narrative writing. Summer Dolch Word Mats
Dolch words are a list of 220 “service words” developed in the 1940s by William Dolch. They consist of a series of eleven sets of twenty words which are considered to be vocabulary which occurs most frequently in children’s reading material. This resource contains each set of words on a single page with a Summer theme.
