With the imminent arrival of Space Week, this might be an opportune time to look at space vocabulary and words associated with Outer Space. There are 45 flashcards contained in the pack, with three flashcards per each vertical A4 page. Flashcards for all of the planets are also included.
Space Acrostic Poems Templates
An acrostic poem is one where the beginning letter of each line spells out a particular word. Pupils generally tend to like to write these poems as they are easier than other types of poetry. This resource contains 25 Space-themed Acrostic Poems templates for pupils to write their own “out of this world” poetry!
Our Solar System
This series of posters on the Solar System is a perfect display resource to mark Space Week in your classroom/school. It features 12 colourful posters of each of the eight planets as well as posters for the sun and the moon. Each poster features an image of the planet as well as a side label naming the planet.
Counting Aliens
Focusing on the numbers 0-10, this numeracy resource for Space Week can be used to help younger pupils to consolidate their knowledge and understanding of basic number. Pupils have to count the number of aliens on each card and attach the correct number in the blank box.
Space Colouring Book
With Space Week just around the corner, pupils especially in junior classes will be motivated by thematic work of any kind. This resource consists of a set of black/white images with a space/astronaut theme for pupils to colour. 20 colouring pages are included in this resource.
Leabhrán Aibítre
This resource consists of a 29 page pupil booklet to help consolidate pupils’ knowledge of words as Gaeilge that begin with each letter of the alphabet. There is a separate page for each letter of the alphabet, including á, é, í, ó, ú. 3/4 images are included on each page. Pupils are asked to colour each image and trace over the word label on each individual worksheet.
CVC Picture Matching 02

This resource is aimed at infant pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on phonics. It is based on their knowledge of CVC words with medial E. The resource could be used as a teaching tool or alternatively, it could be used as a form of assessment. There are 12 CVC Word cards for pupils to match the picture with the word.
Blow Painting
Pupils of all ages enjoy this visual arts activity, but most especially pupils in junior classes. It is an easy lesson to do and each picture will turn out differently. It is also a great activity to do with a pupil with oral motor difficulties as it will give a fun opportunity to develop facial muscles.

This resource contains a 25-page seasonal booklet as Gaeilge aimed at the development of fine motor skills in younger pupils. Pupils have to trace the Autumn leaves and then colour them. It gives pupils lots of opportunities to practise fine motor and colouring skills.
