Christmas Paper Weaving
Although this seasonal visual arts lesson is called “Paper Weaving”, it is much easier to do the weaving if it is done with card. This activity can be a little “fiddly”, so it may be better to do it with pupils in middle/senior classes. This lesson could be done as part of the Construction Strand of the Visual Arts curriculum.

This is a nice colourful visual arts lesson to do during the Christmas/Winter season. The resource contains a simple, yet effective, line drawing, creating a seasonal pattern which can be coloured using any art medium that you wish, eg. crayons, markers, colouring pencils or paint. The focus of the lesson is on colour and pattern.

This resource consists of a template for pupils to do a research project on how Christmas is celebrated in different countries around the world. Finding out about different customs and traditions about the Christmas season is a great way to include a literacy component into seasonal work in the classroom.
