Welcome to Seomra Ranga, the Hub for Primary School Resources. For the overseas visitors “Seomra Ranga” means “classroom” in the Irish language.

Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….

Please have a browse through the new site and support our work in developing new resources by becoming a Member. Individual and School Memberships are available.

Paper Weaving

Although this lesson is called “Paper Weaving”, it is much easier to do the weaving if it is done with card. This activity can be a little “fiddly”, so it may be better to do it with pupils in middle/senior classes. This lesson could be done as part of the Construction Strand of the Visual Arts curriculum.

Marbling Art

Marbling 02This is quite a pungent activity to do in school as it involves oil paints and white spirit, so it should be done in a well-ventilated room such as the school hall or outdoors. Pupils of all ages can do this visual arts lesson and all pupils will experience success as there is little or no skill involved. All pictures will turn out differently and can be used for many different purposes
