Welcome to Seomra Ranga, the Hub for Primary School Resources. For the overseas visitors “Seomra Ranga” means “classroom” in the Irish language.
Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Book Review: And the Blood Flowed Green
We really enjoyed this futuristic and funny book.
It’s probably more suitable for boys than girls and those with an interest in space and science-fiction.
The action is fast-paced and the illustrations really add to this.
The plot is forever twisting but there’s lots of humour in them too.
We loved all the different creatures and planets. read more…
Bill’s New Frock
This resource provides a chapter by chapter list of questions for the Anne Fine novel “Bill’s New Frock”. The novel tells the story of Bill Simpson who wakes up one morning to find that he’s a girl, and worse still, his mother makes him wear a frilly pink dress to school. How on earth is he going to survive a whole day like this? These questions could be done orally, they could be used as comprehension questions or they could be used as a quiz at the end of reading the novel. A wordsearch based on the novel is also included. The novel is probably suitable for Rang I – III. read more…

Edublog Awards Poster
As you may know, Seomra Ranga is a finalist in the Edublog Awards in the “Best Individual Blog” category. It is up against some really big and well-known blogs from the US and the UK. As these awards are given on the basis of a public vote, I’d appreciate if teachers who use the site would ask their colleagues to vote for Seomra Ranga. You can vote every day at http://edublogawards.com/vote-here/ until December 9th. There’s a downloadable poster for your staffroom to encourage your colleagues to vote. Please print it out and display prominently in your staffroom! Many thanks!
