Only Eva is the latest book from Judi Curtin. It’s about a girl called Eva and her friend Ella. One day Eva and Ella are at school and a new girl comes from Nigeria, called Aretta. When Eva and Ella make friends with Aretta , they want to hang out with her after school but every day she has an excuse and always rushes off as soon as school is over. Book Review: The Lost Fairy
I recently read “The Lost Fairy” by Marian Broderick to my three and half year old sisters. This highly entertaining fairytale follows Flora on a journey as she realises that she needs friends to help her regain her rightful perch on the Christmas tree.

ESL Aloud Website
ESL Aloud is a new website from an Irish primary school teacher. The teacher creates simple poems in order to teach basic vocabulary to pupils learning English as a second language. The poems are colourful and engaging and would look great projected large onto an IWB. Images pertinent to the vocabulary of the poem accompany the poems. read more…

Smarty Cat Games has recently developed Gaeilge resources to assist with the teaching of Curaclam na Gaeilge. The Chatty Cat Ball (An Cat Cainteach) contains 21 questions and actions to help children develop their oral language skills in a really exciting and fun way. It develops children’s ability to speak about themselves in front of their peers.
