Welcome to Seomra Ranga, the Hub for Primary School Resources. For the overseas visitors “Seomra Ranga” means “classroom” in the Irish language.
Seomra Ranga has been successfully providing tried and tested resources for primary school classrooms since 2007. Since that time, the site has gradually built up a strong following amongst educators as a repository of quality teacher-created resources. The resources on the site, which support all areas of the curriculum, are arranged in accordance with the curricular provisions of the Irish primary school….
Please have a browse through the new site and support our work in developing new resources by becoming a Member. Individual and School Memberships are available.

Christmas Grid 01
This seasonal Christmas resource is aimed at pupils in middle/senior classes working on co-ordinates from the Shape and Space Strand of the Maths curriculum. It is based on pupils’ ability to work out the co-ordinates of a particular Christmas image on the grid. Pupils should have knowledge of these aspects of maths before engaging in this exercise.
Christmas Line-Ups 01
This seasonal resource focuses on ordinal numbers and positional language which can pose some difficulties for younger pupils and SEN pupils. The pack includes four worksheets with a Chriustmas theme for pupils to practise these essential skills.
Christmas Trail 01
The purpose of this resource, aimed at pupils in middle and senior classes, is to create an active Christmas activity where pupils get out of their desks to complete the task. There are 26 questions on the trail, all of which are on the theme of Christmas. Pupils have to find the cards on the trail and answer as many Christmas-themed questions as possible.
Dathanna Nollag – Bronntanais
This seasonal resource is aimed at pupils in junior classes who are learning the names of colours as Gaeilge. Each page features a coloured Christmas present as well as a word label in all lower case letters. 11 colours are included in the display pack which contains all of the usual colour names that pupils should know.
Christmas Colours – Presents
This seasonal resource is aimed at pupils in junior classes who are learning the names of colours. Each page features a coloured Christmas present as well as a word label in all lower case letters. 11 colours are included in the display pack which contains all of the usual colour names that pupils should know.
Band Aid
This PPTX seasonal resource gives information on one of the most popular Christmas songs of recent times: Band Aid – Do They Know It’s Christmas? The song, written by Bob Geldof, was first released in 1984 and has gone on to sell millions of copies worldwide.
Christmas Paper Weaving
Although this seasonal visual arts lesson is called “Paper Weaving”, it is much easier to do the weaving if it is done with card. This activity can be a little “fiddly”, so it may be better to do it with pupils in middle/senior classes. This lesson could be done as part of the Construction Strand of the Visual Arts curriculum.
Christmas Lanterns
This is a nice colourful visual arts lesson to do during the Christmas/Winter season. The resource contains a simple, yet effective, line drawing, creating a seasonal pattern which can be coloured using any art medium that you wish, eg. crayons, markers, colouring pencils or paint. The focus of the lesson is on colour and pattern.
