Our Senior Infants absolutely loved reading this charming festive tale together. Flossie McFluff, the feisty forest fairy, is busy decorating her cosy woodland home for Christmas when disaster strikes. A fierce storm floods the animals’ burrows, leaving all her woodland friends without a place to sleep.
With kindness, quick thinking, and plenty of fairy magic, Flossie sets out to help everyone find somewhere safe and dry before a very special Christmas visitor arrives.
The children were captivated by the gentle excitement of the story, joining in with Flossie’s worry, hope, and heartwarming generosity. The illustrations are truly gorgeous, bringing the forest to life with soft colours, expressive animals, and magical details. A particular favourite was the stunning double-page Christmas tree spread, which drew gasps and delighted smiles from the whole class.
This is a beautifully told story about caring for others, staying hopeful during difficult moments, and the magic that kindness can bring, especially at Christmas. It is a perfect read-aloud for young children and a lovely addition to any festive bookshelf.
