Initial Hard C Words 02

This resource is aimed at pupils in junior classes or pupils with speech and language difficulties. It focuses on the correct pronunciation of the initial hard “C” sound. This resource also aims to encourage the development of oral language skills.

Phonic Addition 01

phonic_addition_01This resource is suitable for infant classes or for SEN pupils at the beginning of work on phonics. Focusing on the -at rime, it consists of onsets and rime cards to enable pupils to construct phonic sentences to make words. eg. c + at = cat; h + at = hat etc. It has all the onsets/rimes and signs to make nine phonic addition sentences. Teach Your Monster To ReadDeveloped by the Usborne Foundation, Teach Your Monster To Read (First Steps) is an iPad app aimed at younger pupils embarking on the road to reading. It is presented in a game format which should appeal to younger pupils. They have to initially create a personalised monster which is then brought on a journey around island kingdoms. The King on the island asks the monster to assist him which involves the pupils learning a letter/sound and taking part in games/exercises to consolidate the letter/sound. [click to continue…]

CVC Blending Discs 02This resource is aimed at infant or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on phonics. It is based on CVC words with -at, -et, -it, -ot and -ut endings. Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up into 22 separate discs. The object in the centre of each disc is a visual clue for the pupil. Starting on the left of the disc and working clockwise, the pupil should blend the sounds to make the word. [click to continue…]
