This resource is aimed at pupils in junior classes or SEN pupils at the beginning of literacy work on letter recognition. Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up into twenty-six separate cards. Pupils should firstly look at the capital letter at the top of the card. They should then try to identify its matching lower case letter at the bottom of the card from the four options. They should then place a clothes peg on the correct answer.
This activity is especially suitable for pupils who may not be able to write answers but can match the upper and lower case letters. It is a way for them to demonstrate their understanding of letter association. It is also good for fine motor skills in the manipulation of the pegs onto the cards.
