This resource is aimed at infant/junior pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on numeracy. It is based on the conservation of number up to 10. There are six pages in the resource which should be laminated and cut into complete circles.
There are different ways in which this resource can be used. You could write the numbers 1-10 on wooden pegs using permanent marker and simply ask the pupil to match the number on the peg to the number on the disc. You could write a simple sum (eg. 2+3 or 8-4) on a peg and ask the pupil to place the peg onto the number which is the answer to the sum. Let me know of any other ways you could use this resource.
This activity is especially suitable for SEN pupils. It is a way for them to demonstrate their conservation of number. It is also good for fine motor skills in the manipulation of the pegs onto the cards.
